MomsWhoSave's Favorite Dollar Store Finds
Here are some my favorite things to buy at the dollar store:

Cleaning supplies, like window cleaner, sponges, scrub brushes, mops, brooms, "Swiffer" cloths, etc.

Drugstore items - I often find name brand deodorant, kids' shampoos, toothpaste, and more. It's very hit and miss as to what you'll find, but always worth a look.

Party supplies like gift bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, paper plates and utensils, and related supplies.

Greeting cards, note cards, thank-you notes, etc.

Kids' party supplies, favors, and decorations

Umbrellas -- I don't know if the umbrellas sold at the dollar stores are very high-quality, but I seem to break or lose them no matter how much they cost.

Office and school supplies, like paper clips, sticky notes, legal pads, tape, rulers, and more.
Seasonal items like Christmas wrapping paper, ribbons and bows, stockings, Easter baskets, Halloween decorations, etc.
Is your list different? Leave a comment below, and let me know what you like to buy at the dollar store.

Get Your Truly FREE Credit Report and Credit Score Online
There are lots of places you can get your credit report and credit
score online. The catch is these sites will make you pay for the
information. If they say they're "free," it usually means there's a free
trial period, and you need to cancel your membership with them or your credit card will be
charged.
In case you didn't know everyone's entitled to a truly free credit report once a year from annualcreditreport.com. This site will not ask for a credit card number or any kind of payment. You'll get a credit report from all three credit bureaus here.
Annualcreditreport.com
doesn't provide your credit score however, and that's something that's
also very important to know if you're applying for any kind of loan. To get your credit score for FREE, you can visit CreditSesame. They'll provide you with your credit score every month, and unlike the other "free" credit reporting sites, you don't need to provide payment information or remember to cancel a "free trial."
This site may have credit card offers on the site tailored for your credit needs, but you are not obligated to anything. You are free to use the information at no charge.

Try Netflix Streaming FREE for a Month – Movies, Kids’ Shows, Old and New TV Series, Documentaries, and More
I know Netflix was in the
news recently with all the talk about their changes in service, but even
with the recent changes, I still have to recommend Netflix’s streaming option since it's just $7.99 a month and comes with a free one-month trial. I suggest you take advantage of that trial period to see if Netflix streaming is for you.
Here’s why I love it for my family—it is full of family-friendly classic television series, as well as documentaries, hit movies, cartoons, music, educational programs, biographies, foreign films, and newer television series. I’m sure there are lots of things I’m leaving out, and new shows and movies are constantly being added.
For example, my younger son has been watching The Munsters, Flipper, and The Dick Van Dyk Show lately, and before that it was the original Star Trek series. My older son didn't watch Lost when it was on television, so he just watched the entire series on Netflix streaming. You can search online or on your TV screen by title, genre and more for whatever you’re looking for.
Our whole family finds plenty of movies and TV shows to watch, there aren’t late fees, we watch whenever we want, and we can stop and start the movies on our schedule. It’s just very convenient for us, and I love the variety of shows and movies available.
Most homes already have everything they need to use Netflix streaming—a game console, a blu-ray player, or wi-fi-enabled TV. You can check out Netflix’s site for details.
By the way, you can also watch shows on your ipod, iphone, laptop, or other mobile devices.
If you try Netflix streaming, and it’s not for you, cancel before the end of the one-month trial, and you won’t be charged. I think you’ll find you like it though, and you’ll save money renting movies elsewhere. You may even find you can give up any movie channels you’re paying for.

My Review Plus Two Weeks FREE at Ancestry.com and 20% off Family Tree Maker
For anyone interested in their family history or fans of the show Who do You Think You Are? (which is back right now on NBC) I want to let you know about a couple of great offers from Ancestry.com.
If you watch Who do You Think You Are?, you know they mention Ancestry.com often and use the records on the site to find information about the ancestors of the celebrities who appear on the show.
Right now you can get full access to Ancestry.com for two weeks completely FREE. I took advantage of this offer, and was very happy with the information I was able to find. I located handwritten census records well over 100 years old, county records and maps showing land that my relatives owned with their names written on them, marriage, birth, and death records, military records, and more.
You will have to do some digging on the site, but what's nice is that once you find a piece of information, you get suggestions linking you to other records that may be related.
You'll also be directed to distant relative's family trees if there are names in common saving you some work. I found a couple of these in my case, and one of them went back to the 1700s and included photos. That was a great find!
Everyone will find something different on Ancestry.com, obviously, but I think it's worth a look, especially since it's free!
You will have to provide a credit card to use this free trial, but mark your calendar and cancel before the two-week mark, and you will not be charged. At sign-up, you can also choose monthly, rather than six-month billing if you want to be extra cautious and are worried about forgetting to cancel in time. That way if you were to forget, you would only be billed for one month. This way too, if you like the service, and do want to use it a little longer, you will just be charged for the month, and can cancel before a second month is charged.
